Dynatron Nomad TP10
1959. Not Working. Still in received condition. The battery compartment plate is engraved TP10. Apart from no handle the set is complete and is (I think) a good example of an early transistor radio.

Transistors: XA102 (x2) XA101 (x2) XB103 XC131 (x2).

From the early 1960's a transistor radio in a valve radio cabinet. The set has a module for the RF section and a PCB for the AF amplifier section. The amplifier has 4 transistors the first of which is an OC75. The coil assembley on the left is also on is own PCB. Radio Caroline is shown on the station dial which dates the set to between 1964-1967. Another feature of this set is that it is mains powered (not a battery in sight). |

The surprising thing is that the set works. The only item needing attention is the cabinet which is rather dirty. |
Bush TR82C |
 |
From 1958 a classic British transistor radio. Transistor lineup OC44, OC45, OC71, OC78D and OC78. This set is nicely intact and requires a major clean but no cracks or chips in the case to be repaired. The set worked on switch on although the volume and tone controls were noisey. Internally the set is intact with no sign of repair. Only the licence lable requires re sticking (see the inside bottom of the cabinet).Serial Number is 346/153829. |

Another Bush TR82C |

Another example of this classic British transistor radio. Transistor lineup OC44, OC45, OC71, OC78D and OC78. This set is nicely intact and requires only a major clean. It has a minor chip on the rear panel but this is not obvious. The set worked on switch on although the volume control was noisey. Internally the set is intact with no sign of repair. Serial Number is 346/103023 making this set far older than that shown above. Found inside the radio was the original instruction and guarantee leaflet. This is reproduced below. |

KB VP31 Rhapsody Delux |
 |
From 1964 another classic British transistor radio. Transistor lineup 2G344A, 2G345A, 2G345B, 2G374B, 2G374B, 2G381A and 2G339A. This set is nicely intact and requires a major clean however there appears to be no major damage to the case. The set has not been powered yet but note the battery connector. The battery voltage is 9 volts but tapped at 4.5 volts (hence the 4 pin connector). Note the last two pictures which show this Rhapsody against an earlier valve version. The valves used are the 96 series of battery valves and the set can be powered from the mains supply. the is a further writeup in the valves section. |

From the late 1950's or early 1960's a medium wave only radio from the United States. As well as the normal numbering for station location the dial is also marked with the two Civil Defence frequencies allocated in the US for information broadcasts in case of war. The radio also comes complete with its original leather case. Apart from needing a clean and the replacement of the foam which cushioned the battery, the radio is in very good condition and works well. |
