ALL WAVE SIGNAL GENERATOR
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
PLEASE NOTE:-1) KEEP RF CONTROL AS LOW AS
POSSIBLE AS OVERLOADING O.P. METER WILL
BURN IT OUT. 2) BREAKING OF THE SEAL AT
BACK OF THE GENERATOR VOIDS GUARANTEE.
Connect instrument to 50 c/s 200-250 volt supply.
Switch on and allow two minutes warming up period.
By this time the oscillator has reached a stable
condition and the instrument is ready for use.
Connections to the radio set should be made via a
screened lead to the Pye socket on the Signal
Generator. The range switch is then set at the
appropriate band, the desired frequency is then
selected by the main tuning control. Fundamental
frequencies are generated on ranges 1 - 5.
Ranges 1 x 2 and 1 x 3 are calibrated as 2nd and 3rd
Harmonics of Band 1 respecively, provided receiver under test is tuned to the appropriate frequency, no difficulty should be experienced in selecting the second or third harmonic as desired.
e.g. Receiver under test is tuned to 45 Mc/s.
Set range switch to Band 1, 45 Mc/s may
then be selected on range 1 x 2 (second
harmonic 22.5 Mc/s) or range 1 x 3 third
harmonic 15 Mc/s.
The output meter is not internally connected.
Connect in parallel with speech coil of receiver,
under test.
